Yesterday was the TD Five Boro Bike Tour which is a 40 mile ride through all of the boroughs.  Over 32,000 cyclists participate each year.

If the same number of cars drive 40 miles, they would burn more than 60,000 gallons of gas and emit more than a million pounds of carbon dioxide.
