Thoughts on tonight’s Doctor Who
Thoughts after the jump. Doctor Who and Looper spoilersThat could have easily been two episodes and probably should have been. I don’t think any of the moments were earned or given enough time to be absorbed.
Jumping off a building should probably have a consequence, especially in something that is, ostensibly, a PG show.
I don’t know.
I have very mixed feelings about this episode.
Also, I saw Looper last night, and my first thought when the detective dude saw and abandoned his old self was “He didn’t close his loop!”
The angels overtook all the statuary in NYC - there is some much material in that premise! There is so much for them to explore! The Statue of Liberty kept leaving her plinth! There must have been tourists on the Ferry standing on the right-hand side, not seeing the Statue, then running to the left, and still not seeing her! They would have demanded their nickels back! But it was rushed to fit in the plot of the Ponds’ departure.
So much time was given to Rose and Donna leaving (Martha just kinda said “I’m out”, and that was that). There were these major cathartic moments that made me sob. I didn’t get that here. And, after three seasons with the same companion, I wanted it.
