The Key Lime

We went to see Beasts of the Southern Wild tonight. What an incredible film. 

I am so proud of my friend Dan Romer, who scored the movie. And Quevenzhané Wallis, the young actress that plays Hushpuppy, is absolutely amazing. Just, wow. 

The movie is currently in limited release, but will be in more theatres starting Friday. I highly recommend checking it out.

“After several days of accelerating heat, U.S. rights to Benh Zeitlin’s debut film Beasts of the Southern Wild have been acquired by Fox Searchlight. Most of the major indie distributors — The Weinstein Co., Sony Pictures Classics and Focus Features among them — sought to pick up the gritty, elliptical drama, which had its world premiere Friday at the Eccles Theatre. Oscilloscope and IFC Films also were involved in bidding. Fox Searchlight will release Beasts this year.”

This is the film I just scored. It’s called Beasts of the Southern Wild. A bunch of my friends played the music with me. Go see it when it comes to your town!
